At PivIT, we look at the overall health and performance of our client’s IT Infrastructure to make sure it is the best it can be.

We complete an in-depth hands on assessment of your IT infrastructure, then document our findings into an easy to read report for you and your team to review. Our report is packed with recommendations on how to reduce costs, resolve identified problems and mitigate risks. In addition PivIT Solutions can build annual plans for IT improvements to help with budgeting.

DISASTER RECOVERY PLANNING

Recovery strategies define an organization’s plans for responding to an incident, while Disaster Recovery Plans describe how the organization should respond.
Having reliable and secure backups are a good start, but having a full Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) is critical to ongoing business continuity.
A Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) is a documented set of procedures to recover and protect a business’s IT infrastructure in the event of a disaster. Such a plan, ordinarily documented in written form, specifies procedures an organization is to follow in the event of a disaster.
A typical DRP plan consists of the precautions to minimize the effects of a disaster, so the organization can continue to operate or quickly resume mission-critical functions. Typically, Disaster Recovery Planning involves an analysis of business processes and continuity needs. Before generating a detailed Plan, an organization often performs a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Analysis (RA), and it establishes the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO).

PivIT can help with end-to-end DRP planning.
Cyber Security Planning

CYBER SECURITY PLANNING

We help Clients protect their data against attacks from the outside and curious employees on the inside of their business.

Cyber Security consists of technologies, processes and measures that are designed to protect systems, networks and data from cyber crimes. Effective Cyber Security reduces the risk of a cyber attack and protects entities, organisations and individuals from the deliberate exploitation of systems, networks and technologies.

A cyber attack is usually intended to inflict damage or expropriate information from an individual, organisation or public entity, for the purpose of theft (of payment card data, customer details, company secrets or intellectual property), unauthorised access to networks, compromise of official records or financial and/or reputational damage.

Cyber Security is an increasingly important focus of all organizations. Whether you’re an SMB or a big Transnational Corporation, security gets complicated and tricky.

There are a number of effective measures you can take to reduce cyber risks, although there are dangers in thinking that technological solutions alone will improve Cyber Security. The three fundamental domains of effective Cyber Security are people, processes and technology.

Storage Management

STORAGE MANAGEMENT

Successful Data Storage Management strategies leverage a suite of tools to configure, provision, archive and report storage activities, according to a defined set of Management Policies or Processes.
When it comes to storing data, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution.

Before you decide where or how you will store your structured and unstructured data, companies first need to understand the amount and type of data they have, along with the motivation behind storing the information. Having this background will help determine what route to take, whether building on-premise solutions or moving to the Cloud, or some combination of the two.

There are 14 steps you need to take to choose the right Data Storage Solution(s) for your organization – and how you can better ensure your Data is properly protected and retrievable:

  • Know your Data

  • Don’t neglect unstructured Data

  • Understand your Compliance needs

  • Establish a Data Retention Policy

  • Look for a solution that fits your Data and not the other way around

  • Don’t let upfront costs dictate your decision

  • Use a tiered storage approach

  • Carefully vet storage providers

  • Don’t store redundant Data

  • Make sure your Data is secure

  • Leverage technologies that use deduplication, snapshotting and cloning

  • Make sure you can find the Data once it's been stored

  • Have a Disaster Recovery Plan and always test

Data Storage can be complex and costly, therefore it’s vital to get it right the first time. PivIT helps our Clients manage and maintain their Data Storage solutions at every stage of the implementation process – from start to finish. And we help you plan and budget for all your Data requirements ‘before’ they turn into problems.
